"…"Hothouse" - the current exhibition from No Name Exhibitions at the Soap Factory…is, if not quite marvelous, at least a bracing experiment that offers enough pleasant surprises to reward a visit… Among the most unusual is Kyle Fokken's kooky, gigantic sculpture of what may be a headless dog. Resembling and eight-foot-tall hobbyhorse, the creature is perched on all fours, limbs truncating in a set of four wheels. It's outfitted in a sci-fi-meets-harlequin getup that includes a silver breastplate and colorful fabric. I'm not quite sure what to make of it, but it is definitely memorable."

"With a name that attempts to reflect the wildflower mix of work by the 40-plus artists, "Hothouse" includes paintings, etchings, videos, sculptures and photographs. Highlights include SoapBox Derby founder Kyle Fokken's 15-foot dog on wheels…"
